Client handover pack
Clients call with questions after the job. Some use the wrong cleaner, which can damage the surface and affect the maker's warranty.
Steps
- 1
Collect the official care and maintenance sheets for the exact products you used (doors, panels, benchtop, hardware). For example, polytec has care and maintenance PDFs on its website.
- 2
Ask the AI to write the pack, using ONLY those sheets:
Prompt to copy
Write a simple client handover pack for job <name>. Plain English, short sentences. Use ONLY the care text I paste below. Do not add any cleaning product or advice that is not in it. Sections: 1) What we installed (list). 2) How to clean each surface. 3) What NOT to use. 4) Simple checks every few months (only if they are in the pasted text). 5) Who to call: <business name, phone, email>. Care text: <paste> Hardware notes: <paste>
- 3
Check every line against the maker's sheet. Example from polytec's melamine doors care sheet: clean with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, then dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, solvents, bleach, ammonia or acetone. Remove the protective film within three months of installation.
- 4
Add your own warranty, if you give one. Do NOT let AI write the warranty words. The ACCC says a warranty against defects must include set information and the exact mandatory text from the law. Copy that text from the ACCC page, or ask a professional.
- 5
Make it look good in Canva or Word. Add photos of the finished job. Send it as a PDF or print it.
- 6
At handover, go through it with the client. Open doors and drawers together and show how they work.
