Assembly checklist
Hardware is missing or set up wrong. Doors and drawers need work again at the end, or on site.
Steps
- 1
Collect: the approved drawings, the hardware list (hinges, drawer systems, handles, legs) and the maker's instruction sheets for the EXACT parts. Blum and Hettich put their instructions on their websites.
- 2
Ask the AI for a checklist for each cabinet:
Prompt to copy
Make an assembly checklist for job <name>. Cabinet list: <paste> Hardware list: <paste> Text from the maker's instructions: <paste> For each cabinet give: hardware to fit (part + qty), drilling and setup notes ONLY if they are written in the instructions I pasted (say which sheet), adjustments to do after fitting, and a [ ] tick box. If information is missing, write CHECK. Do not invent sizes, settings or part numbers.
- 3
Check the checklist against the instruction sheets. Example from Blum's official sheets: the CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge adjusts ±2 mm side, +3/-2 mm depth and ±2 mm height (cam mounting plate), and the hinge kit sheet says to drill the 35 mm cup hole 13 mm deep. Always use the sheet for your exact hinge.
- 4
Print the checklist or show it on a tablet at the bench. Tick each cabinet as you go.
- 5
Before dispatch, a second person checks: all hardware fitted, doors and drawers adjusted, spare parts and install notes packed.
